Jacques Lemoisson

Founder, GATE Capital Management

Jacques has managed and advised global macro strategies since 2005. He combines fundamental economic analysis with quantitative processes to translate global developments into investment decisions across asset classes.

His career spans J.P. Morgan, Lombard Odier and CIO roles in Swiss private banking, with experience in tactical asset allocation, ETF strategies and alternative investments.

At GATE, he brings an investor’s perspective to the interaction between climate change, the energy transition, geopolitics and financial markets.

Brendan Berthold, PhD

Macro & climate economist

Brendan brings together global macro research, climate economics and institutional investment experience. His work connects growth, inflation and monetary policy to asset valuations, portfolio exposures and financial risk.

He holds a PhD in Economics from HEC Lausanne, with research published in leading academic journals including The Review of Economic Studies and the Journal of the European Economic Association. His academic work includes collaboration with Bank of England economists on the macroeconomic and financial effects of carbon pricing. His research has also been cited by the Network for Greening the Financial System (NGFS).

His broader expertise covers economic forecasting, applied econometrics and macro-financial risk modelling. He combines rigorous empirical analysis with practical investment judgement to translate complex economic forces into clear implications for investment and risk decisions.
